As part of the ongoing efforts to streamline the Weighted Drawing process and to collect annual demographic and housing demand data, the Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Department has transitioned from a paper form to an online Intake Form.
This form will serve as the first step for prospective affordable homeowners and renters. It is the only way that households will be able to receive emails from the Housing Department when homes are available. All households are required to annually complete the intake form before becoming eligible to enter a lottery for a restricted home, regardless of any prior history with the Housing Department. They will also be required to keep the form updated with any household changes prior to the opening of a new housing lottery.
This form will also provide the Housing Department with annual demographic and demand data, which will help inform new housing developments and programs moving forward. An online lottery entry form is currently in development and the department hopes to launch that tool this spring.
The Workforce Housing Action Plan calls for the department to coordinate access to housing opportunities. As part of this work, the Housing Department worked with Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area and the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust to develop the questions on the form. The Housing Department will aggregate the data received and provide it as a resource to the community.
