Exploratory Well Drilling

The Town of Jackson will be drilling at the corner of Rangeview Park to determine if this is a feasible location for a new municipal water well to meet water supply needs in southwest Jackson neighborhoods.

PROJECT LOCATION: Exploratory drilling will occur toward the NW corner of Rangeview Park, near the intersection of Rangeview and Whitehouse Drives.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Exploratory drilling for a well involves a large, truck-mounted drill rig and support truck. During testing, large volumes of water will be pumped continuously using a diesel generator. The water generated will be routed by temporary above-ground pipes to a local irrigation ditch or land. A well-cap will be installed, like the picture to the right, after drilling and testing is complete.

PROJECT SCHEDULE: April 15 - May 15 for drilling, exploration, testing, and capping of well, if successful. Dates are subject to change depending on contractor and permits.
