THE PARKS DEPARTMENT RECEIVED TREE CITY USA DESIGNATION at the 16th annual Eco Fair on May 11 this year.  A representative from the Wyoming State Forestry Division presented the Town with it’s 8th year of being a Tree City USA recipient.  Mayor Muldoon read the Arbor Day Proclamation and recognized Parks & Recreations efforts in supporting a sustainable urban forest.  Our team had a booth set up to talk about our positive impacts related to tree care, water usage and reduction in chemical uses in our Parks and public spaces.  We gave away a Maple Tree and distributed information about proper tree/shrub planting, mulching techniques, weeds and wise water use for local homeowners and businesses.  It was a tremendous success.  I would like to thank Steve Bigger, our Sr Forestry Tech, who is an ISA Certified Arborist and Brian Sell, our Sr. Turf Technician, for their efforts and supporting sustainable practices within our operations.  If you have questions about planting, water usage, weed control or any other landscaping related issue feel free reach out to our team, and we can help.  Questions can be submitted to aerskine@tetoncountywy.gov.
